Electric Revolutionary: Samuel Aboagye

By 17, Samuel had built two solar-powered electric vehicles entirely from discarded materials. The MAF discovered his genius via YouTube videographer Efo Selasi, and included Sam’s Solar Scooter and Solar Taxi in our Petersen Museum exhibit ‘Electric Revolutionaries’. Getting his vehicles from Accra to LA was problematic, so we sent team members Dan Green and Greg Hatton to Ghana to document Samuel’s world, interviewing his teachers and family about life with a young genius, and their attempts to find him a proper education.
